The Lester B. Pearson School Board



School board = A group of people who are in charge of local schools; legal definition: An elected body corporate which manages delegated powers in regards to the delivery of education services within a defined territory.


The Lester B. Pearson School Board  (LBPSB) is a school board on the island of Montreal and one of the  English school boards in the province of Quebec. It is responsible for English public schools from Verdun, through the West Island and Ile Perrot and "mainland" territories stretching west to the Ontario border. It oversees 39 elementary schools, 12 secondary schools, 2 adult education centres and 4 vocational training centres - more than 20,000 students enrolled all together. Click here to see a map

It is named after Lester B. Pearson, Canada´s 14th Prime Minister.

The LBPSB is the only school board in Canada to have an official consultative group of students (CSB= Central Students´Committee) to its executives


This is the Teacher Training Programme of the LBPSB, it usually lasts for 6 weeks; since we will be there for just 4 weeks, some changes will have to be made
